Human error is a common term used in the aviation community, and it's usually referring to a mistake a person has made. There are many programs throughout the maintenance organizations amongst airline companies that can help manage human error.
A team-based organization that affects the core in the aviation industry is aircraft servicing. Maintenance is one of the most important activities any airline can do to maintain the upkeep of its fleet. If an airline fails to perform corrective or preventative maintenance they could lose a flight due to failure. Working in this environment can be a daunting job because anything they do affects those the next hour either negatively or positively. An aviation service member must be sharp and focused.
The two most considerable challenges aircraft servicing can face are establishing proper communication and complying with a wide range of regulations and restrictions. Improper contact can sometimes happen due to the working environment, such as loud noises. Sometimes, speech can come over the radio distorted, and the person on the other end gets the incorrect message. Regulations are critical for the safety of operators, and airlines hold a high standard for their personnel to follow.
A solution for human error would be surveying the employees based on working conditions, training on proper communication, and instilling professional behavior to deliver highly efficient aircraft maintenance.
